Sometimes, the best gifts are the ones handmade with bucket loads of love. I love nothing more than seeing Cleo’s little masterpieces come to life and framing them to sit pretty on our wall. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought it was perfect timing to share some little tips on how you can spoil your Mum with a lovely DIY gift that won’t break the bank.
Frame your kids artwork
Cleo loves to draw and splash around with paint, so I finally got around to framing her little masterpieces to put them on our wall. This is such a gorgeous gift idea and a special reminder of her toddler days.
Frame a gorgeous card
I’ve long been a fan of framing cards. It’s one of the most affordable ways to create a piece of art for your wall and is a special gift idea. Kikki K have some gorgeous cards and inspirational quotes which would look great in a frame from Ikea, Target or Kmart. This is proof you don’t need to spend a fortune to decorate your walls.
Frame a teatowel
My little budgies have been sitting pretty in our living room for a little while now and I’ve received so many comments about them. This is such a simple idea. Teatowels have come a long way from the days of just drying dishes and now come in all sorts of shapes, patterns and prints which are definitely frame worthy. Get creative this Mother’s Day and frame one for your Mum.
Frame your kids handprints
I love this little idea. It’s such a cute way to document their age and is such a special gift idea. I look back at Cleo’s handprint and still can’t believe her hands were once that little.
So if you’re running out of time to hit the shops, get your creative shoes on and think outside the box.
