I recently read a book from start to finish, which I have to say is a big achievement these days! It’s probably the first book I’ve finished since having Cleo and one that I just couldn’t put down. I used to be the one who would take 3-4 books on holidays with fear of reading them so quickly that I’d be left with nothing to flick through. Then after the arrival of Cleo, I’ve managed to start so many books, yet never seen them through to the end. So my latest achievement is definitely one to celebrate!
I’ve been eyeing this one off for a little while now and my local bookstore had placed it on order (but I’m still waiting for it to arrive). So a quick browse of the airport newsagent before jumping on a plane and I’d managed to get my hands on a copy of this book! So are you wondering what book I was dying to read? Well it was ‘Daring and Disruptive‘ by the super talented Lisa Messenger. She is the creative and business mind behind The Collective Magazine (a must read magazine for a good splash of inspiration) and she has a long list of business achievements and experience which means she knows exactly what she’s talking about.
” After decades of success in multiple industries, Lisa Messenger blends her personal stories with the important business lessons she has learned along the way, from why money is not the only currency to how to fail well. Lisa gives readers a valuable insight into her world, whether you’re a budding entrepreneur, seasoned game changer or a corporate ladder-climber dreaming of creating your own gig or making positive change from the inside. This book will help you dig deep, stay on purpose, back yourself, be true to your ideas, and ensure that if you’re thrown to the wolves, you’ll have the strength to come out leading the pack. Your life is your message to the world. So embrace the journey and live it out loud”*
This book has opened my eyes to so many insightful and inspiring ideas, excited me with new ways of approaching work and filled my mind with a refreshing outlook on the journey ahead. Lisa has a wealth of knowledge and years of experience behind her, which makes this book a winner if you’re looking for an inspiring read. This book left me with a spring in my step and the ability to want to jump out of bed in the morning to make the most of each day. It’s not often you find a book which inspires you on this level.
So I encourage you to pop this one on your reading list. You won’t be disappointed.
Have you read this book? x

I can’t remember the last book I read that wasn’t a text book or work related; that is discouting all Dr Seuss and Clifford books! I’ll have to look into this one
