Hello Monday, we meet again! Well it’s been a busy past week and a half but a very exciting one! We welcomed our second little girl into the world on Wednesday 9th September. Olive was very excited to see the world, arriving a few days early and we’re all over the moon with our new addition!
We’ve settled into life at home with our two gorgeous little girls and of course it’s super busy but we’re loving every minute. After a super quick effort to get the nursery ready in time, we kept it fairly neutral until we knew what we were having. I’ve teamed up with Target to add a good splash of colour to this space and to show you just how easy it is to add some personality to a room on a budget.
I’m a big believer in being able to decorate your home with a good mix of affordable pieces mixed with good investment pieces. The latest Target homewares range is bursting with colour and on trend pieces that definitely sweeten the bank balance. Olive had her first shopping adventure when we set out last week to hit up Target for some goodies for the nursery. She was an absolute dream, sleeping through the entire experience which meant Mum could get a lot more done!
First stop was the lighting department and I couldn’t go past this super cute aqua table lamp. It’s the perfect splash of colour and so affordable at $40! I’m loving aqua and mint at the moment. It’s so fresh and bright for Spring and can definitely work both ways for a little girls or boys room.
I’ve been snap happy lately taking a zillion photos and for once I’m actually going to get them printed and place them into divine little frames. These aqua timber frames are perfect for displaying artwork and photos. I’ve just framed a gorgeous little card here, but I’m about to head back into store to purchase the white timber versions to create a feature wall in our living room full of black and white photographs. At $10 each this is one affordable way to decorate.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’d know how much I love a house full of blooms. So it was time to add a good splash of pink to the nursery with some gorgeous tulips in a divine Lisa T pink and white striped canister. With multiple uses, I decided this was the perfect vase.
I couldn’t go past this white side table for $20! Absolute bargain! I was rather excited by this purchase and knew it would be a very handy item in the nursery so it was definitely coming home with me. To finish of this little space I added a gorgeous cushion, throw and laundry basket which I have to say has been a very useful item given we do about 500 loads of washing a day!
This is definitely proof you don’t need to spend a fortune to decorate your space. Just a few small changes can make the world of difference and help to inject a little splash of personality to your room.
Happy shopping!
